Wildlife Victoria, David Attenborough, Join Fight for Forest

Leadbeaters ACT WILDWildlife Victoria is proud to support the proposed Great Forest National Park. Today a Joint Statement was released with signatures from over thirty groups, including Wildlife Victoria, calling on Victorian politicians and Victorian political groups to clearly commit to the creation of the Great Forest National Park in the Yarra Ranges and Central Highlands.

The movement has received notable support from international icons Sir David Attenborough and Dame Jane Goodall. Attenborough has said, “The maintenance of an intact ecological system is the only way to ensure the continued existence of biodiversity, safeguard water supplies and provide spiritual nourishment for ourselves and future generations." "Declaring this area a National Park will go some way to ensuring our State’s emblematic symbol the Leadbeater’s Possum will survive in the wild and further preserve natural habitat for many other native species," stated Karen Masson, CEO, Wildlife Victoria.
