Membership

Please note that membership is NOT a prerequisite for volunteering with or donating to Wildlife Victoria.

Wildlife Victoria members are people who wish to be actively involved in the governance of our organisation and personally align themselves with the philosophy, mission and vision of Wildlife Victoria. They would also have a genuine interest in reducing the suffering of native wildlife and want to apply their area of expertise and skill set to a dynamic organisation at the forefront of wildlife welfare.

Members would typically possess a combination of some of these skills:

• knowledge of government networks, particularly government funding and policies in relation to wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and release
• practical experience in the area of wildlife rescue
• veterinary or emergency services
• knowledge and experience with external stakeholders of Wildlife Victoria
• experience or knowledge on native habitats
• experience in governance for Not for Profit organisations
• legal skills, especially with regard to animal welfare law
• accounting or auditing skills within the NFP sector
• marketing, communications, media
• strategic and management experience
• ability to draw on financial or in-kind resources or philanthropy.

Membership is subsidised by the organisation to attract the right type of candidates to this important role. If you believe you have suitable skills and academic qualifications and are looking to make a significant positive contribution to Wildlife Victoria and its future then membership to WV should be considered. Please note that membership does not make a financial contribution to the organisation.

All memberships are due on the 1st June annually.

The amount of annual membership is $30.

The true cost to the organisation to maintain a membership is estimated to be closer to $90 per year. Only single memberships are available.
