Duck Shooting Season 2012

STOP DUCKING SHOOTING

Once again, game shooters will take to waterlands across Victoria this year to shoot innocent ducks all in the name of sport. This year's season has been extended and will last 12 long weeks, commencing on Saturday 17 March 2012. Duck shooting has been banned in WA, QLD, NSW and ACT, yet for some reason our Victorian Bailleu Government is allowing a full season to go ahead once again.

DO YOU THINK DUCK SHOOTING SHOULD BE ALLOWED?

Welcome to our website!

Wildlife Victoria is a not for profit, volunteer based organisation, offering an essential service to the community by responding to calls regarding sick, injured and orphaned wildlife.  This service is available to the community 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Wildlife Victoria also maintains a wildlife care and communication network across Victoria which assists wildlife volunteers. By using this network of volunteer wildlife shelters, rescuers and transporters, emergency services, government agencies and commercial operators, we are able to respond swiftly and effectively to all manner of wildlife rescue situations, from orphaned ducklings to injured adult kangaroos.

Wildlife Victoria also has trained volunteer disaster response teams that can be called upon at any time to assist in wildlife rescue emergencies such as bushfires and oil spills.

Hundreds of thousands of wild animals are killed, injured and orphaned throughout Australia as a direct consequence of human activities. As government resources for wildlife management dwindle, much of the work of rescuing and caring for these animals falls on the shoulders of volunteer organisations such as Wildlife Victoria.
