If you love animals and would like to help them, then look no further!  Wildlife Victoria assists in providing all sorts of training in wildlife rescue, care, and disaster response.

You can join our extraordinary network of volunteers who rescue and rehabilitate Victoria's native fauna, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, providing a vital service within our community.

Regular training has enabled Wildlife Victoria and volunteers to respond swiftly and effectively to all manner of wildlife rescue situations and provide the much needed care for injured and orphaned wildlife.

Wildlife Victoria has put together a series of snap shots to highlight the role of all of the volunteers at Wildlife Victoria as the key strength of this organisation.  We thank them from the bottom of our hearts for sharing their passion, dedication, skills and friendly enthusiasm to assist wildlife in need 24/7 across the state through rescue, rehabilitation and release. Please click below to see a little snap shot of some of our volunteers and their wonderful efforts over the past year and then read further below to join this wonderful group of people in their imperative and compassionate volunteer work.

One of the first places to start with volunteering is to attend one of our training sesions.    You are more than welcome to come to any session; for new people we recommend starting with Rescue and Transport of Injured Wildlife.  As many of our members and volunteers are in rural areas we try to conduct trainings across the state so they are accessible to more people so we hope you will find an event that suits you.

"I gained a lot of knowledge from past seminars and found them fantastic.  If you are interested in wildlife rescue or becoming a wildlife carer then these courses are invaluable." (Sue - wildlife rescuer)

Coming up on the 22nd May in Sunbury is a Macropod (kangaroo and wallaby) Rescue day with Manfred Zabinskas.  Manfred has been rescuing wildlife for over 20 years. His expertise in kangaroo rescue is recognised across the Australia.

This training day will take you in detail into different types of scenarios, assessment of kangaroos and methodologies of rescue.

5th and 6th June in Rushworth - Venomous Snake Handling with Matt Stockdale.

Matt has been involved with reptiles for many years as a snake handler and as the founder of Victorian Reptiles. This training session involves both the husbandry and handling of venomous snakes.

To register and keep up to date with other courses Wildlife Victoria offer please visit our training calendar on the bottom right section of this page, and remember if you are a Wildlife Victoria member, you can attend our training days for half price!.
