It's been a bumper spring so far and swooping birds have resulted in Wildlife Victoria receiving a lot of concerned calls to our Emergency Phone Service.
It's important to remember that the swooping will only last a few weeks whilst our native birds protect their young, and that the vast majority of the time, it's simply a bluff without any contact occurring.
Still, as we receive so many concerned calls, we wanted to spread the word about the Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) 'Swoop Off' Kit. It's a fantastic page with information, posters and even printable fake eye's for the back of your helmets or hats. There's also a handy 10 tips to protect yourself guide.
DSE have really put together a great collection of useful links, especially given that school holidays in Victoria have started or will start in the following week depending on your school.
Click here to visit DSE's 'Swoop Off' Kit page and download the materials.
